I am authoring a document which is very much like an encyclopedia: rich with text descriptions, featured articles, photograph, drawings, slide shows, a few animations and a few video clips. I eventually want to author a commercial DVD.
I currently have much of this information in HTML format and hope to start editing again soon. I have new information to add and enhancements planned but I want to make sure I’m working in the best format before investing a lot more effort.
Someone has suggested that I should buy Aldus PageMaker to dump it all into .pdf files onto a DVD. This format would work for my featured articles. But I really like the maneuverability of a menu driven format not just an ebook which someone would read page by page.
Photograph and illustration protection is also a big issue since I have exclusive permission for use of these items from each copyright holder. The photo contributors are often museums who are especially worried about protecting their images with any form of electronic data sharing. I need to publish them on a DVD in a format which will greatly inhibit someone copying any photo or illustration out of my documents.
I like ULEAD products. I’ve used photoimpact for years. I’m hoping that some of ULEAD’s DVD authoring software packages will cover my needs.
Does anyone have any suggestions on format and best software for my needs?
Thanks in advance,
Jean
