MF7|After joining two DV .avi-files, project can't be loaded

Post by D.E. »

After adding two .avi-files, cutting something from beginning and end, then joining both and saving project, after opening the the saved project it loads and MovieFactory 7 Pro freezes in the "Select source and import (Step: 1/3)"-screen.
When opening the project file directly the loading progress bar shows up and after 100% nothing happens except a invisible DVDMF.exe in task-manager.

It happened in the past with other projects every time when joining DV-avi-files, saving the project and trying to load it.

(C2Q 8200, 4 GB RAM, Win7 x64, enough hard disc space)

Try joining the files with somethink like movie maker and then importing just the one file. You may need to sue another app, depending on your OS, as you haven't filled in the details.

You may want to download all the updates for your DVD MF 7 pro, to make sure it's properly patched. You can visit http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... pid=400012 for the list of updates.

I already have both Service Packs, sorry, should have mentioned that.

A workaround was joining the cutted .avi-files, exporting them as one MPEG2-file, and using the .mpg-file for creating chapters and menu. In the end, the whole video doesn't need to be reencoded because of the "Do not encode compliant MPEG2-files" (or something). Still an uncomfortable feeling to make the project with a .mpg-file instead of raw material :) but I guess it doens't matter at all ?
Now the next wedding-dvd(s) with sth. about 5 hours want to be created ^^ will try again if opening project with joined .avi-files will fail and I have to export the whole video...

Damned, same crap again
Imported 6 DV-avi-files (all about 4 1/2 hours). Multi-trimmed every single video. Joined one after another (trying to join all 6 at once results in program freeze). Now saving and re-opening project brings up the edit-screen but it doesn't fully load. :| just the waiting mouse cursor. Waited for 10 and more minutes but MF doesn't make it.

So I'm damned to finish the whole crap in one windows-session, never restart windows or close the program or else loosing hours of work until the files are created and can be burned. Bad bad :?

/€: It already fails when joining the first two video files, save and re-open. So I could finish chapters with single files where I have the last possibility to save. After that step, joining and creating menu will alway result in not beeing able to get access to the project :(

Started a new project with two .avi-files...same problem. Videos are captured via Movie Factory in every case.
Installed Win 7 some weeks ago so it's almost "fresh".

Can't believe there's no solution to that :x

I'm just happy that after the two projects I have at the moment, I never have to handle again with DV-crap. Won't use the camcorder in the future, standard definition is dead :P and the tapes are loosing it's quality. Wherever there's a video recorded over an old one, there are artefacts and blocks for some seconds. Whatever.

This may be unrelated, but I recently started having similar sorts of problems with MF 7 Pro when trying to add new videos to its timeline. The program would simply freeze, though occasionally it would bounce back to the MF opening page. I did a bit of Googling, and some other users with different NLE programs were having similar problems. And the common thread was that they had all recently installed Cineform Studio 2.0 from GoPro. I had done so too, though basically had forgotten about it as I could never get it to work beyond the opening page. But on removing a number of .dll files both MF 7 and Studio 2.0 started working properly. See http://www.sevenforums.com/software/296 ... olved.html

The one that worked for me was this one:
In some cases after installing GoPro Studio, other applications may report an error that states: "Error at loading if ippSP library - No DLLS were Found in the Waterfall procedure".

If this occurs the solution is to browse to: C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and then remove these files:
ippcore-6.1
ippj-6.1
ippjw7-6 .. 1
IPPS-6.1
ippvc-6.1
