Does anyone know how to save the metadata for files?

Post by SyncroScales »

Hi.

I have a bunch of image files. Using Corels PaintShop Photo Pro X3 and FormatFactory for batch conversions: The metadata is destroyed. I've spent a lot of time inputting metadata of scans and photos or video files. I have found my time wasted.

The only answer I've gotten is this: http://www.friedemann-schmidt.com/software/exifer/

When in Windows XP: I right click the file, properties tab, I think it's details. I see Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Comments. This is the metadata that does not get copied. I need batch exports.

The files I keep or want are 1. the original (tif and jpg) and 2. the edit (tif and jpg). It is not realistic to have to tag 4 times.

Can anyone suggest a program that will allow me to batch convert from jpg to tif or tif to jpg and it will keep the metadata?

In PSPPX3, I don't use the basic tagging it has. There is stuff that isn't seen outside the program and there is more that is not filled out, unless I'm wrong.

Does anyone use any other programs that keep the metadata when exporting singles or batch files? I don't think I should have to switch programs though.

Thanks.
