My Ulead Video Studio 9 does not recognise the recorders

My Ulead Video Studio 9 does not recognise the recorders.
My system has two NECs, 2500 and 3500.
Any other recording program works perfect but the U 9 insists:
no recorder found.

Is that a full version of UVS 9, or an SE version? SE versions that are often bundled with another vendor's hardware are feature-limited and may not be able to burn optical media.

Also, some software will cause conflicts, specifically packet writer / DLA (Drive Letter Access) software and stuff like Alcohol.

This is a trial version I am trying. What can I do on trial version to see the recorders?

The trial version still supports burning disks AFAIK. What software that supports optical drives do you have installed?
