I produce and burn many DVDs. In the early years I always had audio/video synch issues.
I resolved this by not using any MF5 or 6 editing options like trim tool, add text, add audio etc, that would modify the original video and instead did all my video rendering/editing work in VideoStudio 11.
Hence, I use VS11 to do all my editing and MF to simply author a DVD. This has work very well for many years now with no stablity/quality issues.
So I was surprised that this issue is still real in MF7. I upgraded from MF6 because the HD options are terrible and very basic.
This is what happens:
1) I use VS11 to capture the video file from my Canon HV30.
2) The raw file is MPEG4 and at 25,000 BPS
3) I use VS11 to trim, edit, add text, music etc to this file.
4) I then create an output video file using "use the same settings as per the first video clip". Hence the properties of my created video clip is the same as the original.
5) I then use MF7 to load these files (five of them) to make a Blu Ray DVD. Each video is 20 to 30mins.
6) I used the trim option to cut out sections of video in order to get the total project below 25GByte.
7) I then output the project to a DVD folder
The MF7 settings have "do not modify compliant MPEG files" and so making a Blu Ray DVD is fast, 30 minutes.
Hence, do I need to go back to my old ways and do everything in VS11 and just use MF7 to add videos without any modification in order to create a DVD?
Any help would be appreciated.
Peter
