Moving Selection Marquee

Post by trvlnmny »

I am using PSP X3.
I am a woodworker and not at all proficient with PSP.
I am working on a collection of photos of family members.
I need to make circular images of heads.
I do this by using a circle selection tool and then selecting the head.
I find that many times when I do this I have selected enough of the image but not exactly what I want.
I then have to delete the selection and start over using a different starting point.
What I would like to know is it possible to move the selection marquee around?
When I click on the selected area it moves that area which is not what I want.
When I have the marquee at the desired location I then Crop to Selection and work with what remains.

Thanks for any and all help.

Yes it is possible. In fact there are a few ways to do this.

1) With the selection tool active just right-click and drag the selection around.

2) With the move tool active just right-click and drag the selection around.

3) Click on the "Edit Selection" button on the layers palette or in the selection menu and then use the pick or move tool to move the selection around. It'll be represented by a translucent red area.

Pick which one seems easiest to you. :D

Great, thanks for the info. I was wondering how to do that myself.
Adverts for Corel products when you close PSP don't bother me.
