Is there an easy way (copy-paste) to transfer the DVD menu templates from DVD MovieFactory 7 to VideoStudio X5 Pro?

Re: DVD menus
I haven't actually done it between MovieFactory and VideoStudio but have done it several times between versions of VideoStudio and since they are all .ufo files I would expect it to work. Just copy the files from their location in moviefactory into the correct folders in VideoStudio.
On my Win 7 laptop the menu templates for VS X5 are in C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X5\Content\Menu Template\ ######
The ##### stands for a number of sub-folders depending on format, type (text/thumbnail etc.) but if you browse around in there and see whats what and put your transferred templates in the corresponding folder.

Re: DVD menus
Hi
other options.
If you want a specific template, Customise the template Using DVD MF, then save the template.
This will save to the Favourites folder, under the Documents structure
for XP
C:\Documents and Settings\Trevor\My Documents\Corel DVD MovieFactory\7.0\Favorites\16x9\Favorites
Copy the template to a similar folder for X5,.(ufo and ini file)
Note the actual "favourites" folder is not created until you customise and save the first template.

Trevor
How do you customize a menu template without importing a video file for burning.

Re: DVD menus
just put any video into the timeline on the first window of the burn module - say one of the supplied samples - that will allow you to proceed to customise a template - the video you use is not incorporated in the menu template.

Re: DVD menus
Hi
You have to add a file, any file will do.
That will allow you to select a template from the Gallery.
From the Edit tab choose Customise
Change something on the preview screen, try changing the text font.
Now the option to "Add to menu Template" will be available below the preview window.
Click that and a new UFO will be saved to the Favourites folder within the Documents folder structure. also available to use from the gallery.

Re: DVD menus
Thank you guys for all the suggestions.
What was the easiest, and worked, was the copy paste option from one menu template to the other.
