Rename Clips
How can I rename clips in the library. For example, after I split or multi split a clip, I have multiple files with the same name? I cannot click or rightclick, and then rename the files to keep them separate.

Re: Rename Clips
to rename thumbnails in the library click on it then click again - two clicks in slow succession - you can then edit the name under the thumbnail - but note that does not change the name of the actual video file only the name under the thumbnail - note you will not have multi clips with the same name - thumbnails in libraries are not actual files.
if you want to rename actual video files you need to use my computer/windows explorer to go to the folder they are stored in and then re-name them just as you would any file on your PC

I wish that worked, but it does not work in VideoStudio Pro X5.BrianCee wrote:to rename thumbnails in the library click on it then click again - two clicks in slow succession - you can then edit the name under the thumbnail - but note that does not change the name of the actual video file only the name under the thumbnail - note you will not have multi clips with the same name - thumbnails in libraries are not actual files.

Re: Rename Clips
It most definitely does - just make sure the second click is on the text under the thumbnail - not on the picture part.

Hi
To confirm, yes you can rename the thumbnails in the library.
In addition when you click the thumbnail to select it the bar immediately below the preview screen shows the segment.
The full length of the bar indicating the total length, the blue section indicating the cut section.
This may help in identifying the position of the cut clip with respect to the original.

Re: Rename Clips
You are right. I found out the problem. I never use thumbnail view, but after switching to thumbnail view, I discovered that I am able to change the name, even though I cannot change it in list view.BrianCee wrote:It most definitely does - just make sure the second click is on the text under the thumbnail - not on the picture part.
Thanks again!!
