Hello PSPX4 Experts,
How do I script Highlight Recovery which is found in the Raw Lab? I didn't see the option to even run highlight recovery in Edit mode. Of course my wife says if it doesn't jump out and bite me, I'd probably miss it.
Did I miss it?
Thank you,
David

Re: Script Highlight Recovery
Highlight recovery is strictly a RAW processing thing. And the Open command only sets the certain defaults the rest are handled directly inside the RAW converter itself.
So, as far as I'm aware, non-scriptable.
This is because once you open the RAW file it converts it to a regular image and loses all of the RAW data so it can't use it anymore for this edit.
If you want something close in the regular editor you can use the Highlight/Midtone/Shadow command under the Brightness and Contrast group inside the Adjust menu. Or the Smart Photo Fix command. Or Levels or Curves.

I was going to say something far wordier but just about the same thing. So for now I'll just say "I concur".LeviFiction wrote:Highlight recovery is strictly a RAW processing thing. And the Open command only sets the certain defaults the rest are handled directly inside the RAW converter itself.

Re: Script Highlight Recovery
Well, thanks for the comments.
Thust far I've scripted (by recording) 6 different things, and so far it's done well using it to manipulate many photos in a batch. It's too bad I couldn't add the highlight recovery because it's a good tool.
I can work around it.
Thanks,
David
