I bumped into a very annoying smart proxy problem in Corel Video Studio. After i created the proxy files for my videos, put them on the timeline and edited them (simple cutting procedures), everything seems nice and beautiful. However if i save the project, exit the program then reopen the project file, the whole thing is messed up. Video Studio simply do not remember where the cutting points were!
I have no problem with the "disappearing proxy files" that other people mentioned here on the forum. All those files are fix on my drive.
Here is an example
I cut the video this way:
First cut - The actor drops his ice cream
Second cut - We see the falling ice cream
Third cut - He begins to cry
It is all okay in the editor. I save the project. Exit the program. Reopen the VSP file. And i get this:
First cut - The actor do not drop his ice cream but we can see the director telling him to drop it immediately
Second cut - We do not see the falling ice cream, instead we witness the actors after-laugh scene. He finds the scene funny and tells it to the director.
Third cut - He is not crying but the video editor guy (me) does.
Please help! What should I do?
(EDIT): I solved the problem by switching from X4 to X5. There is a 60p/50p editing mode in the latest release and now proxy editing works fine!
