WinDVD Pro 11 will not play the King's Speech Blu Ray

Post by jbarb »

I have a newly purchased Blu Ray edition of "The King's Speech". When I try to play the Blu Ray, WinDVD Pro 11 displays the message "This disc will not play due to the region code setting of the player". The region code setting of the player, a Lite-On DH401s, is 1 and has never been changed from region 1. The region code of the Blu Ray is A. Seems like the player and the Blu Ray should be compatible. Could this be a problem with the disc or the player? Thanks for any help.

Hello jbarb,

You may want to check if the AACS of your WinDVD is updated. You can visit - http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... Key-Update - for more information.

Thanks for the response. I believe the aacskey is up to date-at least WinDVD indicates no updates are availaable when it searches for updates, and I have received no messages indicating that the aacs key has expired. I'll try the disc on another computer or download other BluRay software to see what happens. WinDVD has always worked consistenly better than other Bluray software in the past.

I am having a similar issue with the Sherlock 2: Game of Shadows BD.... starts to play movie, but only a few minutes in blips and freezes then displays " Media Not Supported". All other BD's that I have play perfectly. All updates are current and PC is fully updated (ie: vid drivers, direct x, SP,s....etc)......using trial version of WinDvd Pro 11...and wont be purchasing full version if this isnt resolved.
