Converting Video
Using VS Prox4. With a .MOV file what is the best conversion to for editing? Highest resolution and be able to play on DVD players?

Re: Converting Video
I'm afraid the answer depends on a couple of things. First, which flavour of .mov file are you talking about. It is a wrapper which covers a number of formats from high definition h.264 video down to small standard def files. And secondly, it depends on what you intend to do with your finished product: burn a Blu-Ray disc or DVD? Something else?
If you have high def h.264 video and want to burn a Blu-Ray disc or even have just another high def file to play directly on your HDTV, then I would convert the .mov to AVCHD with similar properties to the original. But if you intend to make a DVD, then you would need to convert to DVD-compatible mpeg-2 ... remembering to copy the Field Order of the original (most like Upper Field First).
