Using Video Studio 9
I have a 120 minute VHS tape that is a compilation of old tapes from the 60's when there was no sound. Sound was added later via a moderator who explains the content.
I capture it fine in MPEG2 format (audio and video in sync).
When I come to Create Disc and burn to DVD format the final result has audio out of sync with video by 14 seconds.
Any Ideas???

The A/V sync problem is very common, and it sems to have multiple causes & solutions. Search the board for "sync", and you'll find lots of discussion.
Try capturing to AVI rather than MPEG if your hardware can do it. (My Hauppauge card is MPEG only.)
Did you add any transitions? I got corruption/sync problems when I used Video Studio to add transitions to MPEG files. Now, I use Womble MPEG Video Wizard ($120) for MPEG editing.

The Womble products have tools to fix corrupted MPEGs (I haven't tried them, 'cause I haven't needed them since switching to the Womble editor.) A couple of other programs that are supposed to fix MPEGs are PVAStrumento (free) and VideoReDo ($50).

Here's the weird thing... Your MPEG file is probably corrupt. But, the audio and video can't get out of sync as long as they remain multiplexed (woven together in one file). When the corrupt file is encoded for the DVD, the A/V may be de-multiplexed & re-multiplexed... now they are out of sync.I capture it fine in MPEG2 format (audio and video in sync).
