Post by EOS »

Maby already know....
working with a layer(s) and use a brush with 100% view give very poor performance.
the brush comes after

system: I7core with 12GB ram
using: 1.0.1.10 on openSUSE 64bits with a raw from EOS5DII
reproducible: always

I agree. I really try to stay away from layers because they are barely usable for me. Perhaps this is only a bug on Linux?

are you using cpu-heavy plugins on the main layer? e.g. wavelet denoise (on main layer) converts my quadcore into a braindead zombie when brushing on layers. so i turn the cpu-monsters off while layering.

probably some of the punishments we have to live with for using "always live non destructive software". =)
Bibble since 2004. Aftershot until 2020. From then on darktable.

No, just using the builtin tools.
a raw + one layer for the brush tool gives me already the problem
on 100% view of the photo is it realy slow working.

Exactly the same issue. High resources consumption when work with brush tool.
