I am a newbie here and I looked through the posts and didn't find anything that addressed this issue. I have been working in PSP since PSP 7 so I am pretty familiar with the program. In PSP X4 when I go to adjust the opacity of a raster layer using the opacity slider on the layer palette toolbar. I click on it and I can't use the arrow keys to adjust the value. My arrow keys have no effect on the opacity slider at all.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can get it working? It has never worked for me in PSP X4.
Thanks for your time.

Re: Layer Palette Opacity slider, arrow keys don't work
It seems to respond to my arrow keys just fine. All I have to do is click on the slider arrow and once it's active I can use my arrow keys. So at the very least we know it's supposed to work. You haven't messed with any of the hotkeys have you?

Re: Layer Palette Opacity slider, arrow keys don't work
Thanks for your reply, and no I don't do anything with hotkeys. I have used the arrow keys in all the previous versions of PSP. Just this PSP X4 doesn't work for me. It is good to know it is suppose to work, but it would be nice for me to find out how to get it working again. Wonder if I should just uninstall and reinstall PSP X4 to see if that works. There are a couple other glitches I have found too, but not major issues, just annoying. But I do use my arrow keys to adjust my opacity a lot! Thanks again!

Re: Layer Palette Opacity slider, arrow keys don't work
Wanted to let anyone else with this problem know that I got it fixed. I had to restore the program to its default settings by holding the shift key while opening the program and when the dialog comes up asking if you want to restore default settings...click OK. I lost all my customized settings but I redid those and PSP X4 is working better for me than it ever has!
Thanks!
Connie

Mine is working without a problem. You may want to update your PSP X4 and you can download all the updates at http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... id=3000009ConnieW wrote:I am a newbie here and I looked through the posts and didn't find anything that addressed this issue. Re: Layer Palette Opacity slider, arrow keys don't work
Hi Connie W ,
You say that you click on the opacity slider and then use your arrow keys to adjust the opacity. Did you know you can roll your mouse wheel after clicking and adjust the opacity with that. Saves having to take your hands off the mouse to operate the arrow keys. (unless of course you are a left handed operator with mouse in left hand and right hand doing the arrow keys.)
I do most of my operations with mouse and mouse wheel and can in effect do most operation with my left hand tied behind my back, (or holding a drink, or a nibbly or the remote!!

Re: Fixed: Layer Palette Opacity slider, arrow keys don't w
Thanks to all for your help. I didn't know I could adjust the opacity with the scroll wheel on the mouse. That is good to know!
I got this issue fixed by restoring the program to the default settings. It now works properly. It was updated with service pack two as well.
So there was just something wrong with the installation. But all is well now!
Thanks!
