VSX5 Icon legend

Post by Brenna »

Having a terrible time sorting out the icons in the upper left (or right) corners of the clips during editing in the timeline. I cannot find a legend for these anywhere. Any ideas?

Hi

Welcome to the forums

The small icons do not seem to be documented anywhere.

The one at the top left indicates that a Filter has been applied, generally from the FX library.
If the clip is an Image then Pan & Zoom will create the same icon

A double icon indicates that Smart Proxy files have been created, useful to know if you are working with HD files.
You may also see the sound icon as a speaker?
The exact position of the icons seem to have changed with VS versions

That's the most info i have??

This is my understanding of those icons:
Clip Legend
Clip Legend
The "distort" icon is there if the clip is on the main video track and the distort option is enabled on the attribute panel. When the clip is on the overlay tracks, then the icon is always on. The clip doesn't have to actually be distorted, but the yellow and green handles for resizing and distorting the clip are enabled.
