My text has moved !
I made a slideshow with text added to most of the photos. It all looked fine, but when I view it on a dvd some of the text has moved slightly. Does anyone know why? I'm using prox4 in Windows 7

Re: My text has moved !
Hi
Give details of the projects content including the video files used.
Most video uses a process called Non square Pixel Rendering, this option in Project Properties is normally selected.
Some video types do not use NSPR, the result can be the text moving left or right.
You will be best to render your video using Share Create video File, choosing the DVD type, you may need to use Custom, depending on the properties of any video used? There is also an option for NSPR from the save window Options button.
Check the resultant file for the error you are seeing.
I cannot give a deffinate answer to selecting these options as different videos give a different effect.
You will have to run your own tests.
I could of course be on the wrong lines????????????

Re: My text has moved !
It was just a photo slideshow with text added, although some of the slides were photo collages from Photoshop Elements, I'll have to check if it was only these slides that the text moved on.
Will let you know as I left the dvd at work.
Thanks

Re: My text has moved !
Hi
When you need to test a burn, choose to create a DVD Folder or Disc Image rather than a DVD Disc.
This will create a file /folder on the hard drive which contains the all dvd disc files, which can then be played on the pc, just like playing a disc, saves on making coasters.
If the project only contains images with no video then the results are strange, maybe an aspect ratio issue, changing from 16:9 to 4:3, having said that, I dont think so?
How long is the project
How big in Gb?
If small can you create a Smart Package, Zipped and made available for download?

Re: My text has moved !
I am using X5, but I think you can use my technique in your version of VS.
I also ran into this problem. I think it has something to do with the 4:3 to 16:9 conversion. For me anyway, my solution was to keep my Project Properties video at the original (4:3), add the text/titles, render the project using SAME AS option (deselected NSPR), then I created a NEW project file and imported the converted video, created the Project Properties at 16:9 this time (still deselected NSPR), rendered, and it worked just fine.
Mostly, my problem was that I had to use the FX Cropping to remove some overscans (those lines at the bottom of the video from VHS scanning), and I chose not use the checkbox to keep the NSPR ratio (Non square pixel ratio) because I did not want my video to be stretched. That was me. I dunno about you.

Another option: I am creating a collection of bad DVD's that are hanging on my wall in a circular formation as decoration. It's actually kind of cool!lata wrote:Hi

Re: My text has moved !
I was struggling with the same "text re-positioning" problem in X4 with 16:9 format (1920x1080). Reported the issue to Corel, but they did not fix it.
X5 seems to be better with text overlays positioning at least for HD content.
