[BUG?] Files Not Shown After XMPs Removed

Post by Blrfl »

Here's an odd one:

I have a small batch of pictures in a directory that I'd done some work on. At one point, I mistakenly applied a bunch of changes with everything selected and decided to go back to square one. I exited ASP, manually deleted the .xmp files from the directory and re-started. Now ASP doesn't show the images when I open the directory, but the log file (snippet included below) does show that it knows they're there. Any other directory works fine, and when I copy the files to another directory, ASP behaves as normal.

This is on 64-bit CentOS (which is a recompilation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux). The system information is included below.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Way to complicated. Select images and hit CTRL-R and they will be reset to your defaults.

....
Any ideas?
Nuke your cache (the cache folder in your ASP user directory). Currently AS is confused as reality and cache do not match and seems to opt to play stupid.

cheers

Thanks. That seems to have done it.

Still a bug. If I lose the file system holding my archive and restore it back to a point before the XMPs were created, the cache in my home directory (which on a different file system) will be out of sync. If ASP can't take steps to make sure cache entries are still valid, it would be nice to have a menu item that resets its concept of what's in the file system so ~/.AfterShotPro stays opaque to the end user.

More fodder for the maintainers: After posting last night, I noticed that I could do Select All or Deselect All and ASP would behave as if all of the files in that folder were selected or deselected (Items in Edit would become sensitive/insensitive, etc.). So whatever this is, it's probably related to the thumbnail panel as opposed to the entire program not understanding the file is there.
