Album transition causes crash

Post by stew46 »

I have just started using the trial version of VS9, and all seems ok except for this:
Anytime I try to use any of the album transitions , eberything slows up, and then falls over (usually blaming the videodriver for not working!)
My system:
AMD 2600
512mb ram (PC2700)
120gb h/d (and 80gb secondary)
Nvidia FX5200 with latest drivers
directx 9c
Window xp pro sp2 (all updated)
Any ideas?

Hi Stew,

No easy answer for this I'm afarid (and as far as I know) -- from what I do know the Album Transisitions are buggy -- bot good news but seems the fact.

On my old PC they did not work in any shape or form and Ulead said it was down to the O/S -- I was running windows Me and memory.

On a higher spec machine I now do have them running but they run incredibally slowly compared to other transitions. I relaise this doesn't solve your issue but proves they are not great.

Other posts of this forum suggest rendering the file and then outputing to disc (or reviewing prior to the burn) and in some case the rendered video works with the Album transisitions.

Not sure if this will work for you but worth a shot.

Hope this helps a little.

All the best,

Brian

I've got a similar set up to yours including the FX5200. But I had 1Gb of ram and a AMD 3000+ processor and the album transistions have never really worked smoothly.

So I just gave up using them.

I know are far as games go, our graphics cards are just about hanging in there, Battlefield 2 (just released doesn't even support it) but it does work (for now), so maybe for me it's time to upgrade the gfx card.
