Hi,
I have just been getting to grips with X4 and am hitting a couple of snags. Can anybody tell me if these are something I am doing wrong or bugs in the software:
1) Although I have "ripple edit" set this seems to have no effect on the chapter positions if I insert a new clip. Am I missing something?
2) I created carefully customised menus in the "Create" section, burnt a DVD, saved the project, then later decided to make an amendment in the "Edit" section. When I returned to "Create" almost all my customised screens had been wiped out and replaced with defaults. Is that going to keep happening or did I miss an option to save what I had done?

Hi
welcome to the forums
sorry for the delay in replying to your questions
There have been some issues creating chapter points, I would advise that you create the chapters within the burner module after doing Share Create Disc.
If you do add chapter points to the timeline then complete all editing first. as you have found adding further clips will cause problems. The chapter points being linked to a time code location.
-------------------------------------
Service patch 2 seems to have addressed the problems of retaining the chapter names within the menu. When you close and save, then open again the chapter names should be retained.

and regarding your second question - when you have completed burning your disc and you close the Create disc module you will see a progress bar with 'Saving Project' on it - after that you MUST save the project file again (File >> Save) - that manual save is vital to retain all your customisation - the auto save on exiting the create disc module does not save your changes to the project file.
