What is wrong with the new X4 Update???

Post by jojomart »

The program installed the SP2 update today, and now I can't run a script in it!

It hangs when it starts to look for the selections. I didn't make any changes, and the file locations are correct. I need this to be fixed immediately so I can test my scripts - that's how I earn my living!

Is it possible to uninstall the update only?

Thank you,
Joanne

Really? I have no issues running scripts at all.

Is there anything in your Script Output? Or do they simply not run?

And I don't think you can just uninstall the patch. I believe it did a full overwrite of many of the files and didn't back up the originals. So if you can't run any scripts and there is no solution you'll have to reinstall X4.

I ended up uninstalling it and reinstalling with SP1 - I couldn't wait because I had a script that had to be tested right away. No there's nothing in my script output, it just hangs when it gets to choosing selections - well actually as soon as I click on the OK button after a message I have at the beginning of all of my scripts.

I'll try the update again at some point, but right now I can't be without a working version.
