I also had the update installed. 15.1.0.34 (Ultimate) is the version number. I don't see the update listed on the Corel website.
MotionStudio 3D 1.0; Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X7 (w/o sp1) (Download), Corel PaintShop Pro 15.2.0.12 (Download)

Question for those who installed the updated..... Does this upgrade offer higher bit rate selection for AVCHD or H264?
(This information can be visible under custom settings in rendering options for .m2ts)

No -- you are still stuck with 18 mbps for AVCHD and 20 Mbps for AVCREC.

I was having a major amount of trouble using X5 on Win7x64. Old projects and video files would crash X5 everytime, so I had to go back to XP to use it. But for some reason this new update alleviated this problem and seems to be working great now!

in VS4 there is an option: Create video file -> same as 1st video clip! - is it still available in VS5 ? asking as its gives me a little more mbps..... in VS4

and what is their problem with bit rate? my camcorder offers up to 28mbps, so that VS soft is useless.....

Yes the "same as first video clip" option is still in VS X5

Why not download the free trial of VideoStudio X5 and see for yourself what it can do.

First, instead of saying VS is useless, you could have asked if there is a way to create project files with higher mbps; the answer is yes and this unasked question has been addressed before in this forum with much detail. Second, may I ask what you do with your 28mbps videos today that prompts you to assert that anything less is useless? Most things that are done with videos today can't use those high bitrates... Al

if u know of the way plz let me know .... unless its means to reencode the video with different format like mpeg2 for example....

why i need 28mbps? thats a strange question..... why not? if my cam gives it to me and in fact up to 35mbps in over cranc...... same like why i need a new cam if my old one is still able to shoot? no i dont post on youtube if u r about that...

1st i want to keep the edited original in best quality possible for the future needs
2nd i have to give best quality possible to a client (and i am not talking about weddings....), its already very hard to compete our days and losing up to 10mbps.... just like that right away... why? its like 30% of info

i am kind of pushed to go into adobe - that i would not wanna do as its too complicated and i am too lazy ( in my case price difference is not involved i chosen ulead before just cause its was simple to use among others), - but not giving the options to use higher bits rates....... why? as i understand AVCHD its a consumer codec so i dont understand why consumer prog like VS cant support it on all 100%

I ve been with VS since Ulead version 8, and payed for every next update including Corel Video Studio 4 , and each time there were some serious improvements(not VS3) , but now vs 5 has same issue with avchd as the old vs4 and its a very big disappointment for some one who pays for the program , not just grab it from torrent. And when we are talking about avchd - its like every other cam our days using it - its probably 1 of the most popular formats why not to support it on all 100% !
.... there is already a service pack and still no avchd improvements not to old avchd version where was just up to 24mbps not to a newer avchd 2.0 thats is up to 28mbps..... so looks like its not going to be supported....

Going away after all these years together? its bad and i think not only for me....

i already have VS2 and VS4 installed (i keep VS2 for dvd creation only, as i think its best for it among all future versions or included free progs), can i install the VS5 now and will work ok with other versions installed? and does the free version has all Futures available?
