I'm quite sure this is not an ASP issue, but I'm noticing it in ASP.

I have a Nikon D7000 and I typically shoot in Raw+JPEG.

I see that my NEF photos seem washed out and bland, sort of like wearing contact lenses while my body is badly dehrydated. 80% of the time, the JPEG counterparts seem to have richer colors; much closer to my memory at the time I shot the pics.

I don't blame ASP. But I would appreciate it if somebody could advise me on where to look first. I have ASP Trial and also full Photo Pro X4.

This is because the JPEGs have been "developed" by your camera, while the RAW files are undeveloped. Usually when you use the RAW development software that comes with your camera this software will have the same presets that your camera has built in.....so the RAW images will usually match the in camera JPEG much better than compared to a 3rd party RAW processing software. That being said, you should be able to tweak the settings in AfterShot and create some presets that match or simulate the in camera JPEGs (Picture Style presets for Canon, Picture Control settings for Nikon).
