Lightroom keywords & ASP keywords

Post by JohnTh »

Hi,

It seems that the keywords generated by Lightroom 4.1 and assigned to each photo are seen/imported ok in the ASP 1.0.10.

However any keyword assigned in the ASP to the same photo cannot be seen by Lightroom.

Perhaps I am missing something?

Also there is a possibility to import a tab-indented keyword list (used by IDImager, Lightroom etc.)?

I think that in the ASP's market position it is very important to have full compatibility with the most known programs in order to allow the new users to test and move to ASP without fear of being locked in. Anyway, ASP is somewhat better that the others and can be even more, but do not expect to have an one-off switch from the other programs.

TIA for your response,

JohnTh

Select the images and write standard XMPs...

Thanks. Consider the 2nd as a big wish for the next version. Do not expect that will be many the ones who'll switch to ASP if they cannot move easily their digital assets.

Sadly enough, this feature should be easily to implement.

OTOH, till then can we hack it?

Where are the keywords stored in the catalog?

If they are easily accesible, perhaps I could write a small import utility.

Well, LR does not qualify as DAM either, both are toys...

Never mind the catalog It is easy to parse the AS XMPs and put stuff in there with a bit of scripting know how.
Once you have the stuff in the AS XMPs import and the library will know about them.
