Flicking picture on final video

Post by sismithin0 »

I have recently created a new video from an old holiday video of mine.
I captured the video off tape on to my PC.
The actualy clip is ok and runs smooth in preview.
When I save it as DV format to then export to my DV camcorder the video flicker. It's almost as if you can see the frames dropping, but not actauuly dropping.

There are loads of settings to paly round wiht like compressing fram rates and all other stuff, I'm not too sure on all this yet.
Does any one know the best setting so that it does not flicker on the final video. As it took about 2 hours for the video to render I would try different setting but it may take me a long while , I put on ANTI-Flickering filter but the file is exacty the same and flickers! . It only seems to be movin people and objects the appear to flicker, stationary background objects do not. The sound runs smooth, thats fine.
Thanks very much
Simon

Hi

Can you capture the Vhs tape through your Cam-corder.

From the tape recorder A/V in to your camera, Dv-out to PC via Firewire.

You then capture in Dv-Avi lower field first.

Edit your project.

Render to Dv-Avi to export back to cam-corder
