Custom Highlight Buttons?
I'm working on creating a disc menu in VS Pro X4. I've customized several parts of my menu (background, music, text, etc.), but I can't figure out how to change the little highlight icons that appear next to the selected menu options. Is it even possible to customize these? Thanks in advance.

I am afraid not, unless you have a working copy of Photo Impact, which Corel discontinued a few years ago and quite a bit of knowledge on how to modify the .ufo files. It is one of the very few items which are not user changeable within VideoStudio.
However different base menu templates have different highlight icons and some have no icon but change the frame colour when selected - so maybe starting with a different menu template may get you nearer to the effect you require.
