That sounds great. When you say PS3 is also a computer, does it have any kind of hard drive or ability to record, store, and play HD videos? It seems to me, I heard somewhere that PS3 can stream movies and TV programs. I'm also thinking I heard there are some kind of players that have a large hard drive and you can actually browse the internet and stream videos and programming. Can't remember what they are or how well they might work.

Yes, the PS3 has its own hard drive -- though from memory, they aren't particularly large. I have one of the first series, and it is only 40 GB. But I am pretty sure the current models are a fair bit bigger. You can also of course attach an external hard drive to it via a USB connection. That's how I play back my HD edited video these days -- either on an external 1 TB hard drive I have connected to it almost permanently, or via a large USB stick drive.
They also have a wireless connection so can connect wirelessly to a wireless modem. Mine is hard wired only.
