PSPX4 Pro - Images open in vector mode

For some strange reason when I open a image and click on my text tool, my image goes into vector mode even when I have create mode set for floating or selection.
I had previously done work with vectoring and perhaps I set something that in now locked. I did reset all preferences, but am still having this problem. What has happened and how do I avoid this or fix this?

I don't have this problem in X3. Thanks

If you have Create As: set to Vector you'll need to be in vector mode. If you're not setting that to Vector then this is strange behavior.

It appears that when you have the "layers palettee" open the image will display the vectoring. Turn off the "layers palette" and the vectoring isn't visible but none the less happens. Thanks to those that responded. Appreciate it. This case is closed. Hopefully.
