When I render a large file with the output going to a mapped drive the output is cut into multiple files that are 2GB in size.
If I do it to a local disk it doesn't do this - it created the 13GB file, which I then have to copy to my network drive.
Does anyone know how to remove this limitation on network drives?
I am using 64 bit windows 7 and a NetApp NAS...
Thanks!
Graham

The limitation is imposed by your network drive - not by VideoStudio
Two ways you can remove the limitation - one is two re-format your network drives to the NTFS file system - the other is to buy new external drives which are already formatted to NTFS.

Re: File size limited to 2GB on mapped network drive
I wish it were that easy, I do not think that is correct - the network drive can easily handle larger files. After I am done rendering the 13GB file to my local drive I copy it to the same share that VideoStudio breaks files into 2GB chunks. If it were a limitation of my network drive I wouldn't think windows would allow me to copy the 13GB file to it. Other video editing sofware (such as AVS video editor) do not break the files up into 2GB chunks either.
Seems to be a function of VideoStudio to me.

Can you tell us what version of VideoStudio are you using?

I just rendered a 90 min file to a mapped networked (Home wireless Network) drive and created a single 19GB file. So VideoStudio can do it. That would seem to indicate that it is related to to your "Net App NAS"
