Hello,
I'm trying to convert VHS to DVD. I have VS4Pro and a Hauppauge Collosus capture card and I get the error "unable to switch to cpature mode" when I'm in the capture tab and click capture video. VS4Pro recognizes the card but pops up the error "unable to switch to capture mode". In device manager, the drivers for the card appear to be installed/operating correctly.
Has anyone encountered this problem and have been able to resolve it?
Thanks in advance for any advice
ryan

Did VS4 come with the card?
Generally cards have their own software, which is tailored to work with them. Use this software to capture, then import the file into VS to edit.

Re: Unable to switch to capture mode VS4Pro & Hauppauge Coll
Please note that I have moved your thread to the Video Studio forum, where it should more appropriately be. Please note also that -- I assume -- the program you are talking about is Video Studio X4. Please note the X -- it is the Roman equivalent of 10. Thus the program is version 14 and not VS4, which is positively ancient, and references to it only cause confusion.
