VS-X5 Sound Effects - Empty List

Post by Mr Mike »

Good Morning Forum.

Video-Studio X5.. Using: -> Auto Music Icon above timeline: -> Scope = Sound Effects - Filter = Any -> No Sound Effects Listed.

I do have Music, Beats & complete access to the remaining smart sound features, cant find any sound effects though. Question ? Do any effects come with Smart Sound for VS-X5.
I searched Smart Sound and found there website, and I'm not positive but it looks as though they are charging 29.00 for each sound Effect :(

Any information pertaining to this would be much appreciated, Thank You..!

I am pretty sure that with SmartSound, what you see is what you get, free at least. There are in fact several SmartSound sound effect discs (I have them), but as you note, they are relatively expensive.

However, some sound effects are supplied by Corel in the full package, though they aren't SmartSound. They are included in the Samples you get with the package, and can be accessed through the library as the other samples are. I see 15 music files (M01.mpa - M15.mpa) and 25 sound effects (S01.mpa - S25.mpa). The latter are the 'usual' round-up of birds tweeting, boings, typewriters, running water etc that people might most commonly use. These are in both X4 and X5 by the way. You could also Google for others...

I've had VideoStudio Pro x2 through x4, and all came with some sound effects. With x4, there are many sound effects in the "Samples" folder. For example, "S11" is the sound of a train rolling on tracks, "S15" is the sound of rain and "S04" is birds tweeting. There are many other effects. I don't have x5, but earlier versions definitely have sound effects. I've even used a few in my videos.
