Edit help request

Post by paulette28 »

Hi

I came across an earlier thread re editing and when I followed a link to a VS9 help website, there was a refernce made to being able to expand the timeline so that you can view one frame at a time. I have not been able to figure out how to do so and any help would be much appreciated.

In the upper left corner of the timeline area are "-" and "+" symbols surrounding a slider -- that can be used to change the zoom level down to single frames.

Thanks for the response.I tried using the + to expand the frames but unfortunately a banner with the name of my file seems to be blocking my being able to see any expanded frames. The video file is an mpeg one that I "imported" from my mini DVD-R if that makes any difference.

Any further suggestion?

Yes.

Go to File -> Preferences -> General, and change the Clip Display Mode to "Thumbnail Only"

It worked of course! Don't know why I didn't think of that. Thank you so very much. It makes all of the difference in my being able to edit now in the way I had learned in another program.
