Although it is not officially compatible (see Abiel's post), I run PSP XI on Windows 7 without a problem.whisper11 wrote:using Paint Shop Pro Photo XI regularly, I am very satisfied. It runs on Vista 64. Now, I plan to upgrade my computer with Win7.

However, I am on the 32-bit version of Windows 7, so I can't speak for the 64-bit version.
Microsoft's Windows 7 Compatibility Center does not list any information for PSP XI, for either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7.

Re: Paint Shop Pro Photo XI
many thanks for your fast reply, I will try to run it on Win7 first. If I have problems, I will think of switching to PSP X4.

Re: Paint Shop Pro Photo XI
I have Windows 7 64 bit . The 32 bit programs load in separate folder and operate OK.
I have PSP8, X2, X3 and X4 all happily working on W7. X2 and X3 share the same user files while PSP8 and X 4 have separate areas for things like tubes frames etc.

Re: Paint Shop Pro Photo XI
I couldn't get PSP 8 to install in my 64-bit Windows 7 computer. It's been a long time since I tried so I don't remember the exact error message. I gave up and installed it on my husband's XP computer but he's not happy having it there. I have some old scripts that just won't work in the newer versions, not even PSP X. How did you manage it?hartpaul wrote:I have Windows 7 64 bit . The 32 bit programs load in separate folder and operate OK.

Re: Paint Shop Pro Photo XI
I just started running PSP XI on win7 64 bit and having issues with the program crashing about every 5 mins or so. Only happens in PSP so I'm guessing it's a compatibility issue.

Re: Paint Shop Pro Photo XI
I have a Home Version of WIN7 with only 64 bit.
I tried to install PSP XI because I did not know that it was not compatible.
It crashed of course.
I then tried to UNINSTALL it, but that crashed too.
(I used the usual uninstall procedure in the WIN Control Panel)
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO UNINSTALL IT?

I had similar experience with PaintShp X2 v12.01 on Windows 7 x32.
It crashed quite often.

Re: Paint Shop Pro Photo XI
I have Windows7 and run all the PSP versions from 8 to X8 without major issues.
You are mentioning scripts not working in recent versions. It is likely possible to edit those scripts to work with a more recent version. How many do you have?

Re: Paint Shop Pro Photo XI
Interesting that this person copied my post from 2013 word for word. I gave up on PSP8 years ago, got my scripts to work in later versions. Hopefully this poster will come back and answer your questions.

Having looked at that poster (Waleed12), I did a check on him and found he is a reported spammer on other websites. So I have banned him and deleted that post which was obviously just a way of getting into this Board.
