Following Lesson steps in the Marc Bech book (Picture Yourself) Lesson in Stop Motion. When I go to 'CAPTURE' > 'STOP MOTION', I get the message "No Camcorder Device is Available"
The camcorder is a Panasonic HDC-SDT750 and it connects to my computer without problem and is recognised by Windows (7) MY Computer is a Hewlett Packard S5206, Windows 7 64 bit.
I am using VSX5 and have downloaded the latest version of Hewlett Packard's video drivers and the latest version of Direct X.
I have asked Corel Technical but they seem a little slow.
I hope this query is in the right place.
Regards, John

Re: Panasonic Camcorder not recognised
If it is recognized by your system maybe you can try this.
Open VS x15. click FILE click insert media file to timeline (or library) choose insert Digital media. A window should open. If you dont see something the represent your camera click on the + sign in front of computer and someting should indicate your camera. Click on the check box and ok will light up at the bottom of the window. clock on ok and another window will open with options at the top. click on the options you want.
This may or may not work

Re: Panasonic Camcorder not recognised
Thanks for your input.
In 'Capture'>'Insert Digital Media', it works fine, VSX5 allocates a drive letter to the camcorder and communicates.
It's just when I go to 'CAPTURE' > 'STOP MOTION', I get the message "No Camcorder Device is Available".
Regards, John

Re: Panasonic Camcorder not recognised
Sorry, didn't quite understand that last post.
Just to be clear:
My computer recognises and talks to my camcorder.
VSX5 recognises and talks to my camcorder via 'Capture'>'Import Digital Media'
The problem arises when I use 'Capture'>'Stop Motion', at this point I receive a message saying "No Camcorder Device is Available".

Re: Panasonic Camcorder not recognised
I (eventually) received a reply from Corel Tech support on this matter saying
Stop Motion capturing is not applicable for high definition video output like what your Panasonic camcorder produces.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions.
It didn't say that on the tin before I bought it.
