DVD MF 7SE works completely until it has to render the menus. Then I get unspecified/unknown errors.
I have both X3 and X4 installed (I never uninstalled X3 from when I bought it).

Also I had to re-edit my project to correct some titles, and it blew away my chapter names and menu backgrounds. I now have 22 chapters to re-title.
All other parameters (the type of menus, the number of chapters, and several other customizations were retained)

  And now it has crashed 2x on me

Hi

Wow you seem to be having your share of problems...
I wouldn't have thought that installing Video Studio would affect DVD MF 7se

I assume it worked ok with Windows 7 in the past..?

Is it crashing with one particuler video file or all you try?

Have you tried re-installing DVD MF 7SE.

Well I did get very good at typing in the titles  and the new built in editor handles the double click better than 7SE :) .
Yup it did work before, This computer has always been 7Pro64bit and it is only computer I have installed the video editing stuff.
The crash occurs when it is doing the titles. the video was pre converted (as was my standard workflow before now).
I tried something a bit more radical (if it is a conflict from X4 and 7SE, then I do not want to mess with it or I might loose X4 (Ulead always had common files in the past and downgrading was an issue with this model)). I created a virtual machine, running XP and tried a clean install of X3 and 7SE, but there are issues with this install as well (different issues of course). I have not gotten back to 7SE since I switched to project->DVD workflow in X4. The only real issue is that for a project like this, I MUST get the titles in video correct before creating a DVD with chapter menus or I will have to re do the DVD work.

Hi

It seems that if you require to embed the titles/chapters in the Mpeg then you need DVD MF 7Se

So have you tried re-installing the dvd mf program.

The program was installed automatically with an update from X3, but there was a download file for DVD MF, I installed this separately to X3.
At one point I could not run from X3 program but could be launched from the Start-programs menu.

Its about 460Mb It may be still available from the Corel site, but they dont seem to support X3 any more, which seems strange?
But if you really need it I can make it available?
Again it will only run with X3 installed.

No, but thanks. I have the installs, all the add ons (including MF 7) (I save everything). That is how I installed it in a virtual PC (stand alone of XP (clean) X3, X3 patches and DVD FM and nothing else). Right now it is not a big deal, the processes has been derailed and I have moved on to new projects. If I get a chance or need to revisit a project I will look at re-installing.
