This is the first time I have encountered this error since I started using VS Pro X4,
I 'captured' an entire DV tape (after successfully capturing 3 previous tapes) and after the tape had been fully captured VS started to display 'thumbnails' in the library selected. After waiting much longer than I did for the previous tapes and noting that the SAME thumbnails were being displayed I attempted to STOP VS unsuccessfully so resorted to END PROCESS (CTRL ALT DEL).
When I restart VS X4 and attempt to select the library I get the above error message and VS locks up - clicking OK does nothing and I can only stop VS using END PROCESS (CTRL ALT DEL).

I cannot even select the library to delete it and start again.

Very annoying.

Please help

Thanks

John

Hi John

The link Abiel provided is for X2 which is no longer supported, I would think the details have been removed from the Knowledge Base

However searching the site for Load From Stream Error will find some details.

They are advising that you reset the program to its factory defaults, this will re-set the libraries.

Resetting VideoStudio Pro X4 to Factory Defaults

This will clear the library and insert the sample clips as original install.
You may wish to back up the library first, Settings Library Manager. then Reset Library.
If it then works then the old library is at fault?

Hope this helps

Thanks Trevor for the advice.
This 'problem' encountered came as a complete surprise as I had been 'loading' (capturing) the tapes from my most recent trip and the first 3 did so without a problem and then the problem started. On reflection I then remembered that I had downloaded and updated Windows components somewhere in the middle and so wondered if this had something to do with the problem. Anyway after attempting to restore Windows and then VS would not work and so I did an 'undo previous restore' the problem seemed to disappear.
Windows never seems to amaze me!

To (possibly) prevent having to post another question do you know if it is possible to add a particular video filter to EVERY clip in a project without having to add it to each clip separately/manually?

Hi John

A little bit off topic but i guess yes ...

You actually copy the clips attributes to other clips this would include any filters applied

Add the filter to the first clip, right click the clip and select Copy Attributes.
Shift Click on the last clip will select all.
Right click and Paste Attributes
