I have made 4 templates from the make movie templates manager:
1280x720 8000kbps WMV
1920x1080 8000kbps WMV
1280x720 8000kbps MPEG-4
1920x1080 8000kbps MPEG-4
And have everything in those templates configured just the way I need them to produce a consistent result that meets my needs.
My question is, how do I export or backup those 4 custom created templates so I can re-load them if I either reinstall the X4 that I have or use them in the new license of X5 that I have ordered for my other machine?
I modified some properties of the underlying templates that were used as the basis for some of those above, but don't know all the details as it was rather a confusing process. But I believe it was one of the ULEAD entries that I tweaked in order to get the proper options available to me in the template.
Sorry for the confusion if I'm not expressing it right, but bottom line is, I have it all setup and just want to be able to load those setups into X4 or X5 when I complete and install.
I would appreciate any helpful suggestions you may have.
Thanks

I don't think there is a import or export function for those.
In X5, they are most likely stored in one file named MovieTem.dat located in %appdata%\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\15.0\xx-XX (language-country).

Re: How to export make movie templates manager creations?
If I understand it correctly you want to make a template of each of your projects?
If so go to File/Export as a Template
Sorry if I misunderstood?

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Thanks for the reply, but I only want the Export template (settings) saved so I can recall them later.Pete Waterman wrote:If I understand it correctly you want to make a template of each of your projects?

I purchased X5 and when it arrives, I want to move X4 to another machine, then put X5 on the 6 core Intel 980x to take advantage of the new multicore capabilities.
I want to save those 4 groups of settings mentioned above so that I can recall them later from inside both programs. That way I can ensure consistency on all of my projects when I save to those formats.
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks for trying to help - I appreciate it.

Re: How to export make movie templates manager creations?
Hi
As mentioned by Kingston ---Saving the file MovieTem.dat from X4 , then replacing it in X5 should work.
As a warning note modifying some files may cause the program to fail, I will run a quick test to see if this option works. -- (yes that seems to work ok)

Re: How to export make movie templates manager creations?
Thanks much for the info / tips.
I'm going to make a Disk Image of my current setup then do a fresh install and will be able to test the suggestions in the next day or two, I believe.
I'll post a follow-up to let you know what the result is.
Thanks again - I really do appreciate the replies.

Re: How to export make movie templates manager creations?
I got my X5 in the mail and installed it and executed a refined process on the
template export so that it can be imported later. Here is the basic procedure:
Settings > Make Movie Templates Manager
New > File Format = Windows Media Video (*.wmv)
Profiles Tab > Profiles > Ulead - WMV HD 1080 30p
Customize Button > Select Ulead - WMV HD 1080 30p
Click Copy and assign a unique name - perhaps just add " - Revised" at the end
Click Edit and configure all of the options to meet your needs
When complete, export that configuration to a descriptively named PRX file
Repeat that process for all resolutions and configurations necessary
Copy MovieTem.dat file from:
C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\15.0\en-US
to the same location as the exported PRX files
On the new installation of VideoStudio Pro X5, to provide the same template configuration:
Copy those PRX files into the following folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Components\Encoder\Profiles
Copy the MovieTem.dat file to the following folder on the installation machine
C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\15.0\en-US
Run the progam and those configurations should be available for use.
I hope this helps someone.
