DVD Import

Post by PoPmcgee »

When I try to import a DVD, I get the following message:

Failed to read DVD Information.
Report ID: 0x80040901(2305)

Anybody have any ideas as to how to correct this?

Thanks!

Try copying the DVD folders from the disk to your hard drive and then import the DVD folders from the hard drive into the VS program.

Thanks-Already tried that

Thanks for your response. I have already tried that with the same results. Tried reinstalling VS 9 & all support programs. No help. Must be some sort of driver I guess. Just didn't know where to start looking.

Is that a commercial DVD? UVS does not handle content that is protected with CSS.

Without opening Video Studio can you copy the VIDEO_TS folder to your hard drive? I ask this because if it cannot do it then the probelm would not be with VS.
When you say the same DVD do you mean the same physical disc? I'm wondering if the disc may have been damaged or is dirty.

Click VideoStudio Movie Wizard from the launcher or click Tools > select VideoStudio Movie Wizard > at the main program. Use the Insert DVD button to import the movie from folder or DVD.

I am having a similar problem. I can save the file to my hardrive but cannot play in VS9. I have tried everything I can think of. Did any of you resolve this problem?

Can others open DVD's that have been recorded on a DVD recorder?

Thanks

I can open dvd recorded on a dvd camcoder. Its a little glitchy. It take a little while of watching the hour glass..then it opens fine. Chapters and all look fine and they playback in the preview fine. When I try to import a chapter I get several chapters or the whole disk. Oh well at least I can trim what I want.

I really am trying to like this program, but I'm getting pretty fed up with it. Glitchy on DVD import, can't capture from my Nvida card without it crashing 95% of the time and can't Finish making a DVD 30% of the time. I'm tired of holding my breath hoping it will work. Everytime I start to walk away it runs flawlessly.

DVD Import

Post by videofool »

This may be dated since previous posts were from June 2005.

Error codes 0x80040901(2305) and 0x80041468(5224) using VS9 occurred for me when I tried to import MP2 video from a +RW DVD that I had edited within the DVR recorder. Specificlly I had deleted some titles from the DVD while in the DVR before attempting to import into VS9.

I found when I put the DVD back in the DVR and played it all the way through I found that the title after the one I had deleted would not play though present in the index. I erased the title that would not play and again tried to import into VS9. It imported but I could not play any of the chapters. I have also had a +RW DVDs that would play back fine in DVR but would not import. In both cases these were DVDs I had erased titles while in the DVR before trying to import into VS9.

Since then I don't erase titles on the DVDs with the DVR if I know I will edit the DVD in VS9. By doing that I have not had any more problems, yet. When I reuse a +RW DVD I have recorded on in the DVR I fully erase/reformat it completely and start anew. .

lol, when i import dv-dvd with its audio in AC3 format, I get no audio! i have no idea why - the pictures are fine just no audio - have to manually strip it from the vob files to wav and reimport the audio on the timeline then render it out as a single file then edit - sometimes I get audio/video sync problems.
