Show more than just a thumbnail in the video track

Post by df »

Is there a way to show more than just one thumbnail from a given clip when inserted into the video track? Currently in VS X4 I get just a thumbnail at the start of the clip and a blue bar after that. In Microsoft Movie Maker by comparison you get thumbnail after thumbnail from the various frames within the clip, I also see in one of Trevor's tutorials (bottom of the page) http://lata.me.uk/video_studio/16_9/16_9.htm there's thumbnails galore but he may be using images rather than a video clip. Is there any way to get this or is it just the way it is?
Regards, Dan

Ummm... You've been with us an awfully long time. Have you never looked in Preferences > General, and up near the top of that tab the line 'Clip Display Mode'? If not, you can there choose 'Thumbnail Only' in the dropdown menu. It has been there in every version of VS I have used, and I started with VS7...

Ken, thanks so much. I've looked at that very thing about 3 dozen times and didn't make the connection. That did the trick. OK, I'm going to go get more coffee now.
