Cutout object

Post by therapy97 »

Ok, I am a digital scrapbooker and am suddenly having trouble cutting out shapes from a simple background. Can someone direct me, because all the tutorials I found online were instructing me to take the shape and "convert to object" (which is greyed out for me now...why???). I used to just merge the background paper and shapes together and then use the "Object Magic Eraser Tool" to get rid of the shape, but now it is keeping an ever-so-slight line around the shape in the original color instead of getting rid of it all. I have tried adjusting the settings, but no luck. Can someone just tell me how to cut out a shape from the background page... I know there was a way to do it, but I did it sooooo long ago that I can't find the tutorial or figure it out on my own. Thanks for the help!

Hi,

If you go to the PIRC forum, there is a search engine for you to look for tutorials for PhotoImpact. Type in Shapes and you will no doubt see a list of tutorials.
PHOTOIMPACT TUTORIALS

You can cut shapes out with the lasso tool. Use the Smart Lasso and draw around the object. Next, click the tick on the Attribute Bar. Now right click on the selection and choose Convert to Object. The object can now be saved as a separate file.
