I have used Camtasia for screen recording for a long time, however I purchased two 24 inch wide screen monitors with a resolution of 1920x1080. Camtasia recording will not record a full screen at this size.......in fact, they recommend 1280x720! So, I updated my VSP from x4 to x5 due to it now having screen capture. VSPX5 will not
not record full screen 1920x1080 at all (already mentioned in a previous post and currently under reveiw with Corel). It seems the limit is 1676x943 and even then, part of the screen is chopped off if one has a wide screen. Resolution has to be reduced. This is a PITA!
In order to do my screen recordings I either have to reduce the resolution which I do not like to do as it distorts everything on my screen, or reduce the size of the page to record and fit it within a custom size. Not the best, but it's a workaround.
I have requested to Corel that the recording dimensions be increased to accommodate the ever growing. larger, wide screen users. I hope it can be done with a ' fix patch'.....dare I hope?

Re: VSPX5 - Screen Recording
Sorry to hear you are having problems. The thing is working fine on my system, full 1920x1080. It sure seems like a video driver issue. Have you tried earlier versions of the Nvidia drivers? I have had errors in some apps that were caused by the video driver.

Hi
I have a smaller monitor at 1680 x 1050, no problems in recording full screen with both Camtasia or X5.

Ah ha, I never thought of the NVIDIA. I guess anything is possible.
Which NVIDIA driver did you have issues with Kingston?
I currently have the NVIDIA GeForce GT 320 driver version 8.17.12.9610 driver date 29/02/2012.
I see you are using Win Xp Kingston. I have Win 7 64 bit.

Re: VSPX5 - Screen Recording
I rolled back the driver to 8.17.12.7533 - 20/5/2011 and unfortunately it made no difference.
I cannot still record in full screen.
If you can do it, I don't known why I can't. Let's hope Corel can help.

Re: VSPX5 - Screen Recording
You may want to try and install the driver that originally came with your computer or the video card. You can uninstall the current driver by going to the DEVICE MANAGER (right-click on the MY COMPUTER icon then PROPERTIES then click on the DEVICE MANAGER that is listed on the left side) then just install using the disc that came with the computer or the GPU

Re: VSPX5 - Screen Recording
Thank you Abiel, but Corel have already helped me with this problem. I had to install three files into VSPX5 folder. I no longer get the error message but it will still not completely record the full 1920x1080 screen. I had to send temp files to Corel which are being looked at now.
I'm not sure your suggestion of uninstalling my NVIDIA graphics card is the way to go, after all, it is an NVIDIA card and the drivers should be for that.
