Text upside down X4

Post by abgino »

Hi;
I'm having a problem in one project. When I enter the text mode there is a cross-hair with a t on an arc. When I type text it's upside down. I've tried adjusting the direction, changing fonts still doesn't help. It doesn't happen on any other projects.

Thank you in advance for your help.

That cursor means "Text on a curve." Do you have any other vectors in the project where you're trying to add the text? What's happening is the text is attempting to follow a curve, and the direction of the curve is making the text start and end one way which is forcing it upside down.

So your options are to detach the text from the curve, start the text in a different location and move it into place, or hold down the "Alt" when creating text. Alt prevents it from attaching the text to a curve.

To detach text from a curve make sure the text object is selected and then you can either go to the Objects menu and select "Detach Object from Path." Or you can go to the layers palette, open the vector layer you're working on and right-click on the text layer. Select "Detach Object from Path" from the context menu.

If you intended to apply the text to a curve then simply grab the pick tool and start dragging the text either left or right and it'll simply reposition the text along the curve. Sooner or later it'll wind up on the right side.

Thank you sooo much LeviFiction the alt key worked. Very strange since I have no curved text in the whole project.
