Hello everyone,
I have just purchased VideoStudio as my first video editing program. I have read there is a bit of a learning curve to be anticipated but I look forward to using the program. I plan to spend a lot of time reviewing this forum for learning how to use this software. I have a couple of questions, literally, right out of the box:
1) I purchased the "Ultimate" version (girl leaping on the cover) and the box and discs indicate that they are the "Ultimate" version. However, the user manuals inside the box are for the "pro" version (kid doing hiphop spin move). I assume the "ultimate" part of the package is the additional software that is packaged with the entire kit. I just want to confirm that I have the complete Ultimate package.
2) The Boris Graffiti asks for a serial number fo registration and I can't for the life of me find any serial number on any literature or packaging that came with the software. Can anyone tell me where I might find the serial number? Are they asking for the serial number to my computer??
Thanks,
Davo

Hello - welcome to the forum and to VideoStudio - we were all new to VideoStudio once upon a time and have used these forums to learn - now we try to help people like yourself. - first thing you will notice is that I changed the title of your post - please try to make post titles meaningful so that other users will have some idea of whether they can help you before opening your post - it also makes it much easier to find again.
To your questions - No.1 - yes the pro and pro Ultimate versions of VideoStudio are exactly the same - there is no difference between the two versions - it's just that you get that extra disc full of goodies with the ultimate - so use the manual you have and it will be OK.
Question 2 is a bit puzzling - I do not remember being asked to put in a serial number - have you first installed VideoStudio - after I had installed VS all the extras on the disc loaded without problem. If I had been asked for a serial number I would have first tried the VideoStudio serial number.
There are a lot of other users on here who have the ultimate version lets wait and see if any of them have anything to say about Boris and serial numbers.

Hi
The install of Boris should complete without asking for a serial number. Well it may ask but the number will/should be inserted automatically
All extra content should be on Disc two (2), I think it may be called Special Effects Value Pack
Try installing from the disc.
you may have the option to "Repair" try that first.
If you have problems, un-install from your Program and Features option within the computers Control Panel, then install from disc.

Re: VideoStudio - New User to it and these forum
FIXED IT!!!!
Thank you all for your time and valuable insight. I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it as recommended. After 'accepting' the license agreement, a window titled "Boris Graffiti for Corel InstallShield Wizard" opened. It asked for three pieces of information: Username, Company Name, and Serial Number. My first name and the serial number are provided (lata is correct). I had previously left the "Company Name" box empty because this is a personal purchase and there is no 'company' involved. The "Next" button did not highlight and I could not proceed with the installation, so I entered random letters (ABC CO) in the box for "Company Name". The "Next" button then became highlighted and I was allowed to proceed to the complete the installation. All the other programs installed same as during the first install with no problems.
Strange how the installation required a company name. I would think that most purchases would be from individuals and not necessarily affiliated with a "company" or other organization. Live and learn.
Thanks again for your assistance. What a great first experience on the site.
Take Care Everyone,

Re: VideoStudio - New User to it and these forum
Most software which I have bought over the years has a line in the set-up for a company name, and I would say that in a (slender?) majority of cases, you have to fill that in to proceed with the installation. I guess I have just gotten into the habit of putting in 'Retired' or 'N/A' (Not applicable), and this also works, just as your random set of letters worked for you!Strange how the installation required a company name.
Anyway, welcome to the forums!

On software where that field exists - and it does appear in quite a lot of software - I always just put my full name in there - never a problem.
