distort photo to turn it into a caricature

Hi is there a tutorial in which I can distort a photo and turn it into a caricature??? I want to do something like the cartoonists do. Your help appreciated.

Hi Rae

I don't use Photo Impact that much but have a very old version installed

Try using the Effect options.
The Effect Warping may be what you need, but the Effect 2d Whirlpool may also work

I think you will have to explore these options

By the way whose face are you distorting and what have they done to deserve this

I'm not much of a PhotoImpact user, so that you can just visit this tutorial for PSP http://www.pinoy7.com/psptutorials/9/ca ... e/p1.shtml then just apply the steps for PhotoImpact.

For the distortion part, choose Image Enhancements > Special Effects > Distort from the Gallery, and pick through some of the choices.

For the cartoon effect, depending on the particular image, try one or more of the ideas below from the Gallery.

• Image Enhancements > Special Effects > Artistic > Cartoon 2
• Image Enhancements > Special Effects > Artistic > Cartoon 4
• Image Enhancements > Special Effects > Artistic > Contour Drawing 3
• Image Enhancements > Special Effects > Comic Strip > Contour Drawing-B

If none of these choices, or some others nearby, suits what you need, try some of the choices on the Effect > Artistic menu. Experiment with the settings until you find something that works.
