I usually create several smaller .vsp projects for managing purposes and in each project I create several chapter points by inserting the green arrow icon as described on page 96 of the user guide. I then combine a couple .vsp projects in order to fill a dvd by the following sesquence:
1/ start with a new blank project
2/ click on 3 share tab up top
3/ click on create disc / dvd
4/ add 2 vsp projects or more
5/ Click add/edit chapters to confirm proper chapters points have carried through from previous vsp projects
It is at this point where I notice all chapter points have been deleted from the individual vsp projects which is very frustrating.
I have also updated with SP1 & 2, and I have checked to see that the software is up to date via the Corel Guide message center and it says that it is. I have also search the forums, checked the user guide and looked in the tutorials with no luck to find out what I may be doing wrong.
I have also noticed that if i create a DVD of one project, the chapter points stay intact, however the name of the selected clip changes to untitled.
Please help guide me in the right direction to stop my chapters from disappearing when combing vsp projects into a dvd.
Thanks

Re: ProX4 missing chapters from .vsp when creating DVD
Hi
First my recommendation is to create the chapter points after Share Create Disc-DVD
-------------------------
There was a lot of problems when creating Chapter Points within the edit timeline and burner module.
The Service Pack 2 cured many issues.
If you have added the green arrow chapter points to the timeline
Share Create DVD-Add VSP's
Add / Edit Chapter Points
Auto Add Chapters..
Insert Scenes as Chapter Points--OK should use your selections.
The chapter point names will not be used and you will have to add these to the Chapter Menus.
-----------------------
When you close the burner module you are returned to the edit timeline.
Save the project File - Save as, i usually call it "Burn Movie"
Re open the project-Share Create DVD should return to your DVD with the menu structure intact including the chapter point names.

Re: ProX4 missing chapters from .vsp when creating DVD
Thanks for the reply and the honesty of the problem. Your workaround helped, however it is very disappointing that Corel has not fixed the problem that chapter points go missing when combing two or more VSP projects
At least now I know it was not me missing some buried setting that was wrong.
Hoping that Corel addresses this,
Merv

Re: ProX4 missing chapters from .vsp when creating DVD
Hi
As far as I know the only problem now is the Chapter Point names.
Setting the names in the editor do not show in the burner module.
I will run a few tests given time, but as i say i didn't think there was further problems..
My personal opinion is that the burner module is the place to set the menu and should be the place to set the chapter points.
I have to say that I do not normally use chapter points but render the project to individual video files, add these to the burner module creates titles, one for each.
The menu's Navigation Controls can then be set.
If you were to render the projects to Mpeg2 the chapter points would be retained within the video file.
Share Create DVD- add Video files- instead of add VSP. then scan for scenes to add chapters.
Using these compliant video files will burn the disc quicker as they do not need converting before burning.
