PSP X4 File Locations

Post by therealkeng »

Why is it when I move the X4 files (brushes, picture tubes, etc) to another location and even enter that information in the program that the program moves everything BACK into My Documents folder when I restart the program the next time?

The My Documents folder is for MY DOCUMENTS, not brushes, picture tubes, scripts, maps, gradients and all this other crap.

Someone please help me to understand why I can't stop this program from inserting folders in My Documents and filling it up with crap. I don't want it there.

Have you tried adjusting the folder location via the FILE LOCATIONS option. You can do that by going to FILE > PREFERENCES > FILE LOCATION

Yes, I have tried that. It keeps the location I DO want (C:\ProgramData\Corel\...) but also puts the folders BACK in My Documents.

Just to make sure we're clear, I copied the entire folder structure from My Documents to C:\ProgramData then go thru the file locations and manually instruct the program to use the new locations then I delete the folders from My Documents. When I restart the program, the folders reappear in My Documents and the file locations have the original structure (My Documents\Corel\...) IN ADDITION to where I want them.

This is absurd. I wasted $50 on this program and it keeps putting unwanted files in My Documents. Someone from Corel needs to explain why they hard-coded this into the program.

I can guarantee that I will never buy another Corel program again.
