Hi. I'm having major issues with X2. The 2 issues I've run into are loading files from my camera which are a .MTS file. When I try to load them, it freezes and if I manage to get them in there after hours, it takes so long to just try to play the video, it's impossible. I waited for them to load in the preview window for a long time. Then it would freeze on playing. They are only like 8min long. So I have to load them into another program, edit shorter, then load into X2 as a different file extension. Any ideas? My video drive is up-to-date, and only happening on this software.
#2 After editing and composing a 30sec video without adding any audio or anything extra, the video freezes. The audio plays fine but I get freeze frames of the video. This is my biggest issue right now, so please answer this first if you are choosing which issue. I need to get moving on this video, but it's taking so long to do anything. It's not the computer b/c it's moving fast. Plenty of memory. Just seems to be Corel.
Thank you!!!!!!

Re: Videostudio X2 and MTS files
these sorts of files take up lots of procesing power, we can't say whether it is the pc or not as you haven't filled in your specs.
X2 would have been an early adopter of the HD file system, it's possible that the file type is too new for the version of the programme you are using. Try downloading the trial of X5 and see if that works better. Of course, it won't if the pc specs aren't good enough.

Re: Videostudio X2 and MTS files
Thank you for the response. So, each file took about 10 min to render in Windows Live Movie Maker. I cut the clips there, then loaded into Corel VS 2. It worked fine. I'd then turn the machine off after working, and come back to it. And none of the videos in VS play right.I can hear the audio, but the video is slow and the thumbnails aren't auto-populated. If I try Windows Live Movie Maker after turning machine off, it plays it with no problem b/c it saves the render I guess. So I tried VS 4 b/c of other forums saying that VS4 was faster. I now don't want to download VS5 b/c all the time it's taken to render any clips would have to be done again. This has all been turned into a .vsp project on the timeline, so it seems it should play right everytime I boot. Right???? It's only 11 min long so far. No music added in, some transitions and such. Any reason you can say this is happening? If it was the processor, seems that Win Live MM would have issues too and it doesn't.
It's like I cant turn my computer off, or I start from square 1 on VS. So when I go to render the clips, I can't just open VS and it renders all my clips, b/c it's not auto-rendering until I pull each video up and scroll or play it over and over to get it all rendered. Any other way to do this than constantly hitting play or manning the scroll button?
Processor is AMD Athlon x2 dual core L310 1.2GHZ. However, seems after creating file there's some setting not on to make it save the render for next time. Not the processor. I get that it's not the fastest processor but no reason to not save render for next use.
Thank you!
