I tried opening 2 files into Pro X3 today and got the message "XXXXX-is not accessible"
followed by this
These files cannot be added to this project
These files may be of unknown format
The computer does not have enough memory
Or the file is copyright protected
The files are from a Canon Powershot S100, and have been put through Neoscene to convert them to AVI. I have uploaded these types of files many times before, and even tried recording another short one to test and it worked fine. The problem is I want these 2 files as it took a lot of work to get them.
The only thing I can see is that both the converted files are over 3GB in size (but why would that be a problem), and none of my previous files have been that big - for this camera (files larger than this from my Canon 5D MKII have been fine)
Anyone know what's happening here? cheers

Re: File not accessible
there are well over 800 different avi file types, which did you choose?
Try converting to another file type and see if that works for you.

Re: File not accessible
The avi file types are chosen by Neoscene, not myself. Their format is an industry standard. Besides, they are the same format as before and after, so there shouldn't be an issue.

Re: File not accessible
Which of the 800+ different .avi file types do they classify as a format standard? Sorry, but there is no industry standard AVI.
AVI is a wrapper, it can contain any of those 800+ file types. Lot's work with VS some don't.
As you say using this conversion process has worked before, but you note that these are large files, I'd capture or convert with neoscene again, but do several smaller files. It could be the header data it writes to large files isn't recognisable, it just had a bad day and made a mess of converting these two files.
If that doesn't work, it could be another programme you have installed or uninstalled recently is upsetting the process, so you could try reinstalling both of these apps or using system restore back to when it all worked ok.
