Help Needed Removing Unwanted Effect

Post by jamesq »

Please see the snapshot below. There is a point on the timeline when the screen flips around and the video continues. Can anyone tell me how to cancel this effect? Also, can anyone tell me how this effect might have gotten there so that I can avoid having it happen again? The screen makes a 360 degree revolution. The video consists of on image on the main track with 6 pip tracks. Thanks, James

Sounds very much as though you have put a transition in the middle of your video clip - would help if we could see your timeline - please stop the video in the middle of that effect and then post a screen shot of your complete screen so we can see what you have done,

Now an additional problem has developed. After I took the first snapshot I posted, it now flashes in just before what looks like a transition. The second screenshot is of that occuring.

Sorry James - are these two screenshots not the ones from your "Greenscreen" problem - the videos are not the ones you posted the single frame from above.

Another way to remove whatever effect/transition that you accidentally placed on your video, is to click click on the FX section of your VS X4, then select the video where the effect happens. This should enable the OPTION section then select ATTRIBUTE from there you should see the what effect/transition that was used. Then just click the "X" to delete the filter.

Yes as I suspected it is because you have put a transition between two video clips - OR if you did not put it there you may have inadvertently overlapped the two video/photo clips when you put them in the timeline - this will automatically insert a transition.

a transition is a smart way of switching scenes - like a book opening or a roll over into the next scene which you can apply to any join between two videos.

I can't see the one in the lower picture but I suspect it is down off the bottom of your screen shot - to remove them - just click on the little yellow square in the timeline so that it highlights - then hit the delete key. Repeat the process in the second one by scrolling down until you see the one in the lower track and delete that as well.

to prevent it happening again - make sure you do not overlap videos/pictures when putting them in the timeline.

Incidentally I do not like editing with the view of the video you have there - I much prefer to see all the video frames - like a film strip along the timeline - try it - Press F6 and in the preferences box up near the top were it says 'Clip display Mode' change that drop down to Thumbnail only - click OK at the bottom and see what you think - if you do not like it you can easily change it back.
