Hello, I have a project where the client wants a photo collage and have each picture pop out individually from the collage. I have VS Pro X4. I have been unable to figure out how to do this. Can anyone give me any help? Corel support referred me here.
Thanks

Hi
I assume you have the individual images and have used VS overlay tracks to create the collage.
First view some of the Instant Projects, this will give you some idea as to what can be created.
Then try the Picture-in-Picture filter from the FX library.
A bit of a learning curve but quite effective.

Re: "pop out" photo from collage
I do this many times. Steps to follow quick and easy.
1. I use my collage producing software (MemoryMixer) to make a background collage with all the pics in place, you can even put them in frames.
2. I leave VS Pro X5 and go into Vegas Plat. 11
3. I place the background collage on the bottom video track.
4. Now add the individual pics, to the track above the background track, and with Pan/Zoom resize and place them over the background collage photo of interest to cover the collage photo.
5. Use Vegas Pan/Zoom to creat keyframes to do your bidding (expand, hold and return to Collage size.)
6. Repeat for all pics and render to video file.
7. Place the video file in VS Pro x5 and use as desired.
Vegas Pan/Zoom blows VS away!! Powerful and easy to use. However, Vegas's lack of a storyboard and long rendering times makes it impractical for me. I don't want to wait 6 hours for a two hours video, etc. I use both programs with great success.

pepegota . . .
Could you post a final video (maybe on YouTube), and the link here, for us to see the effect?
Thanks,

Go to http://vimeo.com/pepegot1/albums Click on the main icon and then select "Palm Grove Women's Club Luncheon, December 14, 2011." You will see the collage as an icon. Click on it to see the effect you desire. It occurs about two minutes into the video. You can also make many variation of this.

pepegota,
Outstanding effort! <applause>
While I now see exactly what you were describing with the "pop out" of the photos, I also think you did an superb job with the titling. Excellent!
Don't know how many hours you put in on this video, but it was either a lot or your experience level is beyond mine.
Great job. Thanks for posting the link!
